- Château Musar: 12 bottles
Lebanon in 1989.
The vintage that could not be made in the normal way: shelling closed the roads, and the story of the bottle is the story of the year.
Serge Hochar made wine through the civil war, trucking grapes across front lines, and released each vintage seven years later. The 1970s Musars are among the great old reds of the Mediterranean.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 1989 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
