How a bottle reaches Switzerland.
The question every collector asks before the first bottle: how does it travel, who handles customs, and what happens if the condition is not what was described. Plainly, then.
How is the wine transported?
In an insured, temperature-controlled shipment. Bottles leave storage once, packed upright in their original cases where they have them, and travel directly to you.
Can it stay under bond?
Yes. We can deliver into your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland, so the wine stays in suspension and no duty or VAT falls due until you take it out.
And if I want it at home?
Then it is imported duty-paid. We handle the paperwork and the customs formalities, and you receive the bottle at your address or your cellar.
How do I know the condition before buying?
Every bottle is described before it travels: fill level, label, capsule and whether it still has its original wooden case. A 1946 Pétrus with a very top-shoulder fill is offered as such.
How long does it take?
Usually within a week or two of agreeing the bottle, depending on the paperwork and on whether you want it under bond or duty-paid.
Do you publish prices?
No. Every bottle is quoted privately on request, ex taxes. Quantities are often one, so a price on a page would be out of date the day it was published.
