The Spanish bottles here come from two houses that keep wine longer than anyone asks them to: Vega Sicilia in Ribera del Duero, where Único spends a decade between cask and bottle before release, and López de Heredia in Rioja, which still releases its Tondonia when it judges it ready and not when the market would like it.
Two hectares of abandoned terraces recovered stone by stone by Telmo Rodríguez, the man who rebuilt the reputation of old Spain. Both vintages here earned a perfect score.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle.
