Champagne in 2004.
A very large crop, picked healthy, and much finer than its volume led anyone to expect. Fresh, chalky and precise.
Created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II, who wanted a clear bottle with a flat bottom so nothing could be hidden inside it. The 1964 and 1966 are among the finest old Champagnes still drinking.
