Rhône in 1978.
The reference vintage of the northern Rhône. A late, dry, sunny autumn after a cold spring, a small crop, and wines that took thirty years to open.
Named for the small chapel on top of the hill of Hermitage. The 1978 is the most famous wine Jaboulet ever made, and one of a handful of Rhônes to earn a perfect score from Robert Parker.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 1978 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
