The vintage in Rhône.
The Rhône is two vineyards. In the north, Syrah on granite terraces where the vintage turns on how much sun the hill got; in the south, Grenache on stones at Châteauneuf, where it turns on drought and on the mistral drying the fruit after rain.
Named for the small chapel on top of the hill of Hermitage. The 1978 is the most famous wine Jaboulet ever made, and one of a handful of Rhônes to earn a perfect score from Robert Parker.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 2012 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
