The vintage in Champagne.
Champagne declares a vintage only when it thinks the year can stand alone, which is why the gaps in a vertical are as informative as the bottles. The wines then spend years on their lees in chalk cellars, and the date of disgorgement matters almost as much as the date of harvest.
Anselme Selosse brought Burgundian thinking to Champagne: oak, oxidative ageing and a solera for the reserve wines. Initial is the entry point, the Rosé is one of the hardest bottles in the region to find.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The NV leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
