Italy in 1955.
A fine, classical Piedmont year, and one of the vintages Giacomo Conterno chose to bottle as Monfortino.
Made only in the finest years, from the Cascina Francia vineyard, and aged for seven years or more in large old casks. The 1978 is the vintage every Barolo drinker wants to have tasted once.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 1955 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
