- Charmes-Chambertin 'Vieilles Vignes' Jacky Truchot: 1 bottle
Burgundy in 2003.
The heatwave. Picked in August for the first time in living memory, with very low acidity and atypical, sometimes baked, wines.
Jacky Truchot retired in 2005 and sold his vines, and his pale, whole-cluster wines went from local secret to obsession. The grand cru Clos de la Roche was his largest holding, which still meant only a few barrels.
Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 2003 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
