What we hold of the 1946
  • 1 bottle

Sauternes in 1946.

A thin post-war crop in a region that needs patience and labour, and had neither.

The only premier cru supérieur of the 1855 classification, made from botrytised grapes picked berry by berry. Yquem lives for a century or more; the 1894 was bottled when the château still belonged to the Lur-Saluces family.

Condition is described before anything travels: fill level, label, capsule and original case, bottle by bottle. If you have not bought an older bottle before, our note on fill levels explains what those words mean and what they are worth. The 1946 leaves storage once, insured and temperature-controlled, for your home, your cellar or your account at a bonded warehouse in Switzerland.
