Fresh and firm rather than rich, with acidity that has carried it well.
The only premier cru supérieur of the 1855 classification, made from botrytised grapes picked berry by berry. Yquem lives for a century or more; the 1894 was bottled when the château still belonged to the Lur-Saluces family.
