Textbook botrytis after a hot summer, and the best Sauternes vintage between 1976 and 1988.
The only premier cru supérieur of the 1855 classification, made from botrytised grapes picked berry by berry. Yquem lives for a century or more; the 1894 was bottled when the château still belonged to the Lur-Saluces family.
