The only premier cru supérieur of the 1855 classification, made from botrytised grapes picked berry by berry. Yquem lives for a century or more; the 1894 was bottled when the château still belonged to the Lur-Saluces family.
In the cellar: 1894, 1946, 1947, 1962, 1973, 1983, 1986, 1990 in halves (100 points), 1996 in the original three-bottle case, and every vintage from 2004 to 2010, plus 2023 in bottles and halves.
